Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 October 2026
These terms apply to ByteIP Player (the TV app) and the account portal at byteip.se, provided by ByteIP, Sweden ("we"). By creating an account, linking a TV or paying for a licence you accept them. The short version: we make a media player, you bring your own content, one licence covers your household's TVs, and we do not lock you in.
1. What ByteIP is — and is not
ByteIP Player is only a media player. It plays the M3U playlists and Xtream-compatible server addresses that you enter. We do not provide, host, sell or recommend any TV channels or IPTV services, and the app ships with no sources. We have no relationship with the providers of the sources you use.
You are responsible for the sources you add and for holding the rights to play the content they contain. Do not use ByteIP to play content you are not entitled to. If a source does not work, goes offline or changes, that is between you and that source. We cannot and do not verify, restore or troubleshoot third-party content.
2. Your account
An account is identified by an email address and signed in with one-time codes. Keep your email account secure; anyone who can read it can sign in to ByteIP. One account is meant for one household.
Your source details (server address, username and password) are stored on your account so that your linked TVs can fetch them. They are encrypted at rest and sent only to TVs you have linked. See the Privacy Policy for what else we store.
3. Trial, licence and TVs
When you link your first TV, your account gets a free trial of 5 days with every feature enabled. Each TV can start one trial; a TV that has already used one does not start another on a new account. After the trial, the app needs a licence to play.
A licence is bought once at byteip.se and covers up to 5 TVs linked to the same account. There is no subscription and nothing renews by itself: a one-year licence simply ends after one year and you decide whether to buy another; a lifetime licence does not end. Your TVs, sources and settings stay on the account while a licence is inactive.
The licence is personal to your account and may not be resold or shared outside your household. We may close accounts that are used to resell access or that link an unreasonable number of devices.
4. Payment, withdrawal and refunds
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout, including VAT where it applies.
As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day of purchase. To use it, email support@byteip.se within 14 days and we refund the full payment, whatever the reason. Refunds are handled manually and normally take a few days to reach your card. The licence stops working when the refund is made.
5. Ending the service
You can unlink TVs or delete your account at any time in the portal. Deleting the account removes your email, sources, linked TVs and synced data. Your purchase records are kept, as Swedish accounting law requires: if you sign in again with the same email, your remaining licence period comes back. A remaining licence period is not refunded beyond the 14 days above.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the free trial, is used to play content its owner is not entitled to, or puts the service at risk. We will say why.
6. Availability and liability
We work to keep the portal and the app running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we are not responsible for the availability, quality or legality of third-party sources, for your network, or for your TV's firmware. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the current licence, except where the law says otherwise. Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. Changes
We may update these terms when the service changes. The date at the top tells you when. We tell you about material changes by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
8. Law and disputes
Swedish law applies. Contact us first, and we will try to sort it out. Consumers may also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, arn.se); otherwise disputes are settled by Swedish courts. Nothing here takes away the protection the law of your country of residence gives you as a consumer.
